amnesia trope - not a fan
I was unsure. He was absolute. I felt broken. He radiated strength. I had questions. He was the answer.
5 stars!
I'm so freaking happy to be back at Westbrook with my favorite bros! I've been so excited to finally get to Kruger's story ever since we first met him in book one, and I have to say he surprised the hell out of me in the best way. Kruger and Jess have been in love with each other since they first met in middle school. Although their drastically different backgrounds and familial expectations kept them in the friend-zone, their attraction and admiration for each other always simmered in the background.
When Jess is attacked after hours on campus, Kruger is first at her side as she awakes with no memory of what happened or who he is. Desperation and love cause him to claim Jess as his fiancé, and the love she feels for him only helps to reaffirm his hasty lie. However as Jess works to regain her memory, she slowly discovers that her relationship with Kruger isn't as easy as she first thought...and that there is someone at Westbrook who doesn't want her to remember what she saw that night.
I absolutely LOVED the relationship and dynamic between Kruger and Jess! Even though their engagement was unorthodox, the love and devotion they felt towards each other transcended all other obstacles and finally allowed them be together. I also loved getting to see more of Prism and what makes him tick; I have a feeling that I'm going to love him too! Seeing all of the bros together and happily roasting each other was so freaking amazing, and I cannot wait for the next two books in the series after the hints that Cambria dropped towards the end
Whoa! Ben Kruger just waltzed right in and stole my heart. Seriously, I haven't been able to choose a favorite because I love everyone in this series, but then along came Kruger and swam right to the top spot. He is the perfect mix of possessive alpha, and swoony hero, and Jess is his perfect match. The way he loves and cares for Jess melts my heart. They were so cute together. His cheesy jokes just to make her laugh, her love of horror movies...I swear there were so many moments that had me smiling from ear to ear. They had the perfect mix of cute banter, and off the charts chemistry. I loved how even with the Elite Ben was a bit jealous and possessive. It was cute to see him with Jess and the rest of the Elite. One of my favorite things about this series is the friendships and found family. The love & support this group gives each other is something special.
Like the rest of the books in this series, Cambria Hebert does an amazing job weaving suspense into this love story. For as much as I was fanning myself over Ben & Jess’s off the charts chemistry, I was equally on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was messing with Jess. From start to finish this book was fantastic. I can not wait for more of this series!

Whoa, isn't my favorite in the series.
Idk if I just wasn't in the mood, but I couldn't lose myself in the crazy cheesy plot like normal. I liked Ben. He always had the funny lines, and I loved how devoted he was to Jess. Jess was just alright, I couldn't really connect with her for most of the book. But I did really enjoy the friendship between them and Prism. (I really can't wait for his book). Their relationship was cute, and overall I enjoyed them together. I did like how Jess took care of her issue at the end.
I think the plot was just a bit too sweet, there just wasn't enough tension for me. Also, the friend group was a bit too much for me. I do love the found family trope these books have going on, but with 6 couples it's getting a bit overwhelming. BUT I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THE NEXT TWO BOOKS Prism finally has his turn and FREAKING COACH gets his own book?! I'm very excited about that.
Rating: 3,0 stars.

Hot college swimmers, attempted murder, amnesia…oh my!
This book was the perfect balance of intense and hilarious… one of Ms. Cambria’s funniest to date.
You think Kruger is a bona fide idiot but his devotion to his Final Girl, Jess, is LEGIT.
Bro moves mountains, builds kingdoms, and passes the “baby girl” and forehead kiss test.
Get you a Benji!
And Jess! That poor girl gets put through the wringer LITERALLY!
(That scene had me catching flies)
The Speedo Gang is on 100 in WHOA.
Doing something a little different with this one and going with favorite scenes:
-Hospital scene: Sweet Baby Benji
-Movie Scene: HI-larious! Read it three times before I could move on to the next one.
-Prism: ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! The sweet and silent ones get me every time, especially when they blush like it’s going out of style.
-“I forbid it.”:
I had too much fun reading this book. The superstar this time around though is Kruger’s potent obsession for Jess. Let’s just call that spade what it is! And I am so here for it!
Cambria’s crown as the Queen of Feels is firmly in its rightful place.

I loved this story so much. I loved that even when they had a disagreement/fight and Jess was mad at Ben, they had an honest conversation and worked it out. I loved how he loved her. He was so sweet and protective. I loved the way Elite was there for them every step of the way. Those boys and girls are found family goals! And I can honestly say I didn't see the twist coming. Great suspense, fun banter and just a wonderful story.

I LOVE LOVE this series and Ben and Jess are my favorite couple from this series and this was my first reread of this book. The amnesia romance was done so well and also the found family troupe. I really need to give Herbers other books a read since the elite series has been so so good! The reason it is not a 5 is because I wish I saw more of Jess building a realtionship with the other girls.’
