Whoa!

Kruger or Ben is an Elite swimmer and has a bunch of Bros including his childhood crush and best friend. He was born with a sliver spoon in his mouth and he knows it. He also knows that it can get all taken away and he wants what’s best for himself and the person he loves.

Jess or Jessica is a lifeguard for the Westbrook U Elite swim team where she a few friends. She’s not as fortunate as some of her friends and had to work extremely hard to get to where she is. She grew up fighting for what she has and won’t go down with out a fight.

This is one of my favorites from this series! Kruger threw me for a loop in the best way! This group of swimmers and the love of their lives has my heart!

So, when is the next book out again?

OH this series and this swimmer, just killed me. I loved this book. I love the sense of foreboding when you know that that shoe is going to drop, but when is the question!! Jess and Kruger(Ben) have to be the most adorable couple yet. Her not remembering anything before her 'accident' and then the whole way he gets to stay in the hospital with her, it is just so swoon-worthy.

This was probably my favourite of the series so far (which surprised me, lol).

I saw a lot of people call this one more boring than the others, and that's probably why I liked it the most. Kruger is not an asshole! He has his growling caveman moments but he is mostly chill and an idiot which I love. I love how whipped for Jess he is. The fake engagement + amnesia combo is a classic, but you know what I didn't mind it that much. It's silly and dramatic, but I like how they both just really liked each other and both felt like they were not enough for the other. This situation pushed them together and forced them to confront their feelings honestly.

I was a bit uncomfy at first with the physical intimacy while Jess was still not remembering, but it was not too icky. Consent here was a lil blurry because, again, she doesn't remember, but they care enough for each other that it was legit it's clear to see she really wanted to be close to him and that he made her feel safe.

I loved the moment she remembered everything and that she didn't blame herself "it's not my fault" IT'S REALLY NOT, YOU GO QUEEN! I like how they resolved it, they talked and it was pretty low drama they just realised their feelings was mutual and that was very cute. This time too, Jess and Kruger were already in love e when the book started, but they'd known each other for so long it didn't bother me and I liked their journey to each other.

This book ends with a ridiculous plot resolution, but it didn't take as much importance in this book, more focused on the relationship, than in the other books when the outlandish drama and intrigue took so much and were so ridiculous it was offputting.

I feel like one of my gripe with this author us that her books are so centered around the romantic relationship (which again are never developed in a way I like always too fast and dramatic), that we never really get a good grip on the other characters. The Elite members that are not the focus are blurred and kinda mash together. The girls are one entity, they are interchangeable, they giggle and bring trauma coffee and then bye. The make lead is always a while new person like no I have never met this guy before what do you mean Kruger is supposed to be the heart of the team? He was just a guy who made two jokes before and now in his book he is the one sunshine of the team? It's just odd. But yeah, I feel like the side cast is always kind of a caricature with no depths, washed of all their quirks, and it's so weird.

My exception is Matty. I am absolutely fan of Prism (Matty!!) and one of the reasons I loved this book is because of how present Prism was. He was part of the trio and it was so nice to see a friendship being really explored next to the romance. We also meet his love interest, Arsen Aaron Andrews and I can't wait for their book! It was so great seeing more of the usually quiet Prism, learn why he always wears his Airpod, and I am dying to know more. Despite my mixed feelings about this series, I am not done with it. Not sure I care about coach's MM romance (esp not if it's with Bodhi like some people seem to think) but Prism & Arsen? Need it more than my next breath lmao.

So yeah, Jess and Kruger were cute af and whipped and I love their their relationship with Prism.

Ladies -- get ready for Ben Kruger -- the funny guy, the best BFF, the sexy swimmer, the possessive alpha, the perfect gentleman, and the closet millionaire!

You know that Savage Garden song? "I knew I loved you before I met you, I think I dreamed you into life..." Ben Kruger is exactly what would happen if a woman were to dream up the perfect man! He's strong and protective, plus respectful, sweet and sexy all wrapped up into one package! Swoon.

Whoa is a friends to lovers story for the ages. Ben and Jess have been besties since middle school, both believing they weren't good enough for the other. How sad, right?! Ben has spent his high school and college years trying to become what Jess needs and Jess has been trying to accept that she might only ever have his friendship. BUT, when Jess is in an accident, Ben tells the ER doctors that he's her fiance so he can remain by her side. So sweet! Until she wakes up and has no idea who he is. Yep, amnesia.

This story is a roller coaster, as Ben struggles with protecting Jess and treating her the way he's always wanted to treat her, while feeling like crap for lying to her. Jess doesn't remember the night she got hurt or who might have hurt her, while someone is trying to track her down and finish the job.

I love Jess's character. Unlike me, she's a horror movie buff, and honestly this whole book kind of has horror movie vibes, like there's danger lurking around every corner (page), which I thought was a really cool touch. Some of the scarier suspenseful moments had me sweating! Points to Jess for handling it all. And even while she's clearly in distress over her memory, she is not afraid to speak up for herself. No surprise that Ben sees her as his final girl!

And I will say it again -- Ben Kruger is so much more than he appears on the surface! We already knew him as a fantastic friend to Prism and the comic relief of the Elite bros. But he's also smart, driven, and so so dedicated to Jess. With every page, more is revealed about everything he's been playing close to the vest, and you will love every minute!

Now for some side character love! Matt Prism is the sweetest little jelly bean! He's quiet, but he more than makes up for it with his clear love for Kruger and Jess. He is there for them every step of the way. And we finally meet Arsen! He already seems awesome and I cannot wait to see what happens for the two of them in the next book!

The Elite Bros are back and with Kruger being the center of attention I just knew we would have a lot of laughs and quite possibly some intense moments. Kruger is a bit of a jokester but he has a heart of gold especially when it comes to the girl he has been in love with for years and his buddy Prism. These two hold a special place in his heart and the others in the group do as well but Kruger has known these two the longest. Jess has always loved Kruger but kept it to herself since she comes from the wrong side of the tracks and is always trying to prove her worth, but her love for Kruger has never faded no matter how hard she has tried to ignore it. When things take a twist and Jess is hurt it’s Kruger who steps in to be the one to take care of her no matter what. He has a lot to lose if she realizes the things he has kept from her but he is hopeful his final girl will stay final girl in the long run. The suspense was intense like it always is with the Elite, but seeing Kruger’s possessive side really had me falling in love. He was so over the top like the rest of the guys but he had the humor to match Jamie. Such a great read and my heart hurt for Prism which I can’t wait to read his story.

Oh Ben! I love him. He’s such a moron in the previous books, but there are a lot under the surface there. I love how he is with Jess when he finally lets himself love her the way he always has. And he’s such a good friend to Prism. Their bromance is so sweet.

And I liked Jess. What happened to her was so horrible, all of it, but she got through it like a champ! And she’s so sweet towards Matty/Prism. I love their relationship. And she and Ben is so sweet together. It was so good to see when she let go of all her insecurity and accepted that she’s good enough and deserving of Ben.

And the way Ben put his parents in their place - epic! Loved that!

Edit #1: Second time reading it and I still love Ben! He’s such a lovable moron, and his one-liners and forbidding everything is so funny. I think he and Jess fit so well together, and it’s sweet to see their and Matty’s friendship. They’re a good family!

Edit #2: Third time reading this and Ben and Jess is still so perfect for each other. The way Ben is with her, what he's done to try and be worthy of her is so sweet. And his and Matty's bromance is adorable. I also love how accepting the whole gang is of Jess. And that she lets herself open up and knock down her own walls.

Edit #3: Fourth time reading this and I love Ben and Jess's relationship. All that Ben has done to try and be worthy of Jess is so sweet. And the way he stood up against his parents and put them in their place was awesome! It was also so good to see Jess let go of all her insecurities and let herself believe that Ben loves her.

A couple too many “bros” but I really enjoyed this book. It’s was funny and the mystery was fun. I loved the found family. Ben and Jess were so sweet and funny together. I really hope Matty gets his book.
