LOVED THIS BOOK!

I cannot believe I waited this long to start this series. The characters are wonderful, and I can’t wait to get into the lives of the rest of the Bridgertons.

This book (and this series) has so much to offer, not just the romance, but also the family relationships. I love the love that this family has for one another and the way they will defend each other (beyond reason sometimes!). The love story was fantastic, with characters that were perfect for each other instead of perfect.

So excited to continue!

It shouldn’t have taken this long to read, but such good story. I obviously watched the show first, but the book was fantastic. I liked the development of the relationship between Simon and Daphne. There’s great character development and the love for the characters is even better than the show.

This audiobook was a delightful time! Such a classic royal romance! While I'm still dubious about the ethics of that pregnancy sideplot (side eye to anyone who thinks Daphne was absolutely in the right), the characters and world are so much fun. I loved the interactions between the Bridgerton siblings and the chemistry between the leads was so well done with incredible banter and communication. I very well might get addicted to this series, especially as audiobooks on my walks with my dog because it's just so fun to listen to and so lighthearted.

I had only watched the show, but I saw so many interesting reviews, good and bad, for these books and my curiosity finally won out. Overall, I did enjoy this book. There was a lot of clever humor, some good steamy scenes and I did enjoy both Daphne and Simon as characters. I did think that it dragged in certain parts and felt a little long, but I still enjoyed the story. I did feel SUPER uncomfortable with THAT scene (iykyk) and I get that Daphne is ignorant of relationships and sex, but it was still icky. Honestly my favorite part was the banter between the Bridgerton siblings, especially during the balls and social events. Anthony, Benedict and Colin were a hoot. Also, LOVE Violet Bridgerton! She was so funny and such a sweet mom. I’m glad I finally read this one and am definitely continuing with the series.

Daphne is really bland as a character and I don't care for Simon. I didn't straight up hate it but it's not worth reading.
