I kept feeling unsure about how I felt about this book. But at the end I appreciated how the author weaved such a tangled psychological web.

I would actually give this 3.5 stars, if I was able. I picked this up after reading that it was going to become a series on FX, a channel that has had some super awesome shows. I'm curious to see how it will be adapted and who they are casting. Overall, I enjoyed the story. It kept me reading for three nights in a row and I'm interested to read the next book to see where the series goes.

Chelsea Cain is one of the best names in thrillers.

I just found a new great author, Chelsea Cain. I totally loved this book! Good story, great narrative and fluent reading. I recommend it! The end of the book is amazing, when we discover who is the murderer, why he did those things and why he did that way. 5 stars, no doubt. While I was reading this book, I compared it to the series "The Following", i don't know why, probably because the relation Gretchen/Archie is kinda like the relation Joe/Ryan. I really want to read the other books of this series.

Heartsick begins with the lead detective on a 10 year old serial killer case gets capture by the serial killer. Then two years later is he being called back to help with another killer case, however, he has lost his wife, and children, and there is something wrong with him now.

This book was not at all what I thought it was going to be. I really hated how Archie still loved his wife, but couldn't be with her. And I was annoyed with having to read the book in the reporters point of view as well. That only happened sometimes, but it was beyond annoying because I didn't like her at all.

Overall I just didn't like this book. It wasn't for me. I couldn't get into the story really, and I was too annoyed with the characters form any sort of connection with them.

Wow. This book was all kinds of creepy. Not for the squeamish.

This book set my brain on fire! It was the PERFECT mix of romance and mystery without the overly sappy undertones. I read this book like there was no tomorrow and when I had finished the series I was utterly entranced by Gretchen Lowell and Archie! So much so that my husband couldn't resist reading the series and as a man, he enjoyed it as much as I did!
The writing is great!

Twisted. But not as twisted as I'd hoped... Still a good read.

if you like karin slaughter's twisted style, then you will like this book!
