Beautiful, emotional, touching, engaging. All words i'd describe this poetry book with. It's a love story between two disabled people. It explores disability culture, activism, disability rights, history, disabled bodies. As a disabled person myself so much of it spoke directly to me and I couldn't help but cry. I took my sweet old time with it, not because it was bad, but because I wanted to sit with the words, digest them, and savor them. Even just typing this now, nearly a day after finishing it, I got tears in my eyes again.

Suffice it to say, i'd highly recommend this book. And here are some other reviews/background information/dialogue with the authors http://eliclare.com/disability/cripple-poetics

A beautiful and engaging love journey, the grace and articulation of the authors come through surprisingly for outsiders and as a recognition of culture and affirmation of crip(ple) love for those of us who experience it. Not only poetry but also text message, essay, and historical exploration, the ways in which daily life intersect with activism, disability rights, cross-movement dialogue, and history are woven into the conversations between two lovers.

See the reviews below for some helpful critical engagement and questions.

One note- it took me awhile to figure out that the font changes signal the two voices. Also, read below for some context, because there are some pieces that could be confusing without more information.
