I really enjoyed the audiobook version! No idea why it took me so long to finally dive into this sequel but I'm not mad after finishing it.

That being said The Fates Divide was a pretty sequel. I didn't realize how much I missed all the characters until a chapter or two into this book. That being said, just being okay doesn't mean I wasn't completely disappointed or anything. Which, I was to a point but I guess I'm a bit more content with it all now. Days after finishing it and really thinking about it all I'm just kind of hoping/wishing we get some spinoffs now.

New to the gang of POVs are Cisi and Ejeh. I absolutely loved Cisi. She's kind of my spirit animal because she was cunning, manipulative, and overall fascinating throughout the book. I was really excited when I got to her parts because I just wanted to know more about her. Ejeh was also a nice addition to the book but not my favorite out of all the characters.

Other than that, I still love all my babies from the first book and enjoyed everything that happened in this one. If I could change on thing it would be the pace of the entire book. Never thought I would complain about things moving way too fast for me - usually it's how slowly things are dragged - but I would've liked some chapters to simmer down a bit. Let my brain catch up to what was actually happening every now and then.

In the end, I enjoyed the book and look forward to my next book by Veronica.

FORMAT:  Paperback
WHY:  Read Carve the Mark for bookclub and also loved Divergent
THOUGHTS: I actually ended up loving this book more than the first! I think it took me a little to delve into the politics and character development. But once it did I was hooked and loved each story! All the characters are great and each have their own traits and downfalls. Veronica is a great writer!
RECOMMENDED: Divergent lovers! Scifi fantasy, character development

I actually enjoyed the second book more than the first, although I did call the familial plot twist in chapter 14 in Carve the Mark.

DNF at pg. 158. I wanted to give it a shot up to page 200 but I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t concentrate when reading it and I wasn’t missing it when I wasn’t reading it. It read as boring, in my honest opinion.
