I was expecting so much more of this book. The first 300 pages were not only boring, but full of rambling. I didn’t feel connected to the characters and started to really dislike them and their decisions.
The last 50 pages were more enjoyable but still, the ending didn’t make me like the book. It also looked kinda forced and hasty for me.

Good addition but the plot drops off the spaceship into empty space

I found the sequel a bit disappointing.

3.5!

While I didn't love this book as much as the first I still enjoyed it!

I found the pacing to be quite slow at least in the beginning and so it took me AWHILE to get this one finished, unnecessary description for things that didn't need it as much as others took up a lot of this novel that made it harder for me to really get into it. But I thought Roth created a very unique and beautiful universe that I was happy to be able to explore more of in this novel!

As well I loved Cyra and Akos and I was excited that I could watch them both grow as people, together and apart. It was interesting to see the paths they both took in comparison to the first novel.
