I can't help but feel like if this volume had a subtitle it would be something like "Hidden Key Moments". It might have been the goal all along, but Mark's terrible twenties are showing. Seriously, he's finally finished 'Super-Hero 101' and now he thinks he can write a book on the subject.
And that's how you write a kid in his early twenties. He'd be the kid at the local coffee shop that is nice, means well, but earns a collection of eye-rolls whenever he leaves the table.
I can't wait to see how his latest plan turns out.

Best volume yet!
I’m not certain if it’s because I’ve taken a few months break from the rapid pace I was reading Invincible but this volume was amazing. Probably the best volume yet though that is a very tough competition. All things considered, this volume was much more muted than other volumes and felt like a reboot of some kind after the war but the growth and insight within Mark is outstanding. Truly something that feels earned and deliberate versus a cheap twist.

Can I say I’m glad Eve’s weight gain has not been used for jokes and instead for developing the bond between her and Mark? When I left off with the previous volume, I was worried how it would be handled.
There’s a lot of emotional growth in this book that is a delight to see. Mark as a twenty-year-old young man is starting to shift in his views. He and Eve are being open and honest, and sometimes that hurts. I feel for Eve because she had to make some hard choices when Mark was gone, and I’m glad she isn’t being villainized for her decision.
Also I appreciate the narrative growth. When this series started there were a plethora of jokes made that I found uncomfortable and undesirable, mainly focused around the gay community or women. I’m glad we’ve swung around to develop into a more modern and correct lens as the series continued. It’s matured well and I’m glad it fulfilled my hopes for that.

Balance is when you confirm Rick and William and put Mark's parents back together in the same issue
