I pictured Jason Momoa as Oscar all throughout this book. It's so refreshing to have a curvy woman as the lead. Funny and cute book.

I love a confident, sexy plus-size heroine! Natalie is the kind of person who says whatever she’s thinking, and she’s thinking some outrageous shit. She’s usually the one to leave the guys tongue-tied, but the hottie dairy farmer at the farmer’s market short-circuits her brain and renders her incapable of speech, much less flirtation. When a mutual friend introduces them, Natalie finally steels herself to go after what she wants. But if she wants a future with her farmer, she’s going to have to decide if that includes a whole herd of cows.
I was definitely picturing Jason Momoa as Oscar and I can recommend that wholeheartedly.

Fun read, but I was bothered that the hero was deliberately named/described as a POC but it did not seem to inform his character in any way. How did Grandpa Mendoza come to have a dairy farm next to Green Bay??

Alice Clayton's book are hit-or-miss for me and sadly, Cream of the Crop had more marks in the miss then in a hit column...
HIT:
+ Nicely written. Easy to read.

MISS:
- Grumpy heroes are usually my favorite kind, but something was missing in Oscar's moodiness to charm me.
- Humor missed me completely. Wasn't funny at all.
- It all developed/happened too quickly. I don't feel like they solved major problems, more forced them to be solved...
The only thing worth remembering for me in Cream of the Crop was Natalie and her awesome attitude and confidence. We need more heroines like her, no matter which size of the clothes they wear.

I enjoyed Natalie’s story. The author had mentioned that she wanted to write a story about a confident woman that was larger than the norm. I appreciated the sentiment, I just wish the topic wasn’t brought up so often in the book.

I absolutely loved this second installment of the Hudson Valley series! This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading Nuts first if you plan to read the entire series. I laughed out loud many times throughout this novel, appreciative as always of Alice Clayton's witty, sexy humour. I loved the characters in this novel, complete with a few familiar faces. I identified a lot with Natalie's character. I admired her sharp tongue, confidence, and no-holds-barred attitude. I enjoyed the audiobook version of this novel, and felt the narrators suited Natalie and Oscar perfectly. I recommend this hilarious romance novel to anyone who loves a good laugh and a sexy storyline!
