Un mundo feliz

Aldous Huxley

"Io reclamo il diritto di essere infelice." Messaggio davvero forte, però non mi ha preso molto. La realtà descritta da Huxley è stra inquietante, fa paura.

The narrative is a 3 and the analysis/theme of the book is a 5.

While the novel had an interesting premise, and I enjoyed the relationships between characters, I found the entire middle section dragged on and made me almost want to stop reading entirely. The end, though, send a message that resonated with me.

Maddening to read a book written 85 years ago that warns us of what we're living now. Why didn't our parents and grandparents take heed?!? Clearly, they were drinking the soma.

Meh.

I had really been looking forward to reading this. Unfortunately, the first half of the book I just felt so lost. It did get better, but by then it was just too late.

The only part of dystopian novels I like is the general concept of the imperfect world, but the writing style usually bores me so I usually avoid reading them. THIS book however *chefs kiss*. YES it is boring, but the concept is so good and it develops throughout and makes you go insane and keep reading. Plus the concept is so WEIRD. I love it.
