I thought this book was a pretty decent description of what a world without emotion (read humanity) would be like. Although while Huxley may have been trying to show us why that kind of world is not great I found myself preferring that to the imperfections that current modern society has. Overall it was definitely a good book and worth a read.

One of the most thought-provoking novels I've ever read, Brave New World provides a shocking nightmare of what happens when society becomes too indulgent in order to better control people, organize them socioeconomically (and physio/psychologically). Brave New World Revisited is even more thought-provoking, though a bit dry at times. But realizing the changes the world had seen between 1931 when Brave New World was written and 1965 when it was "revisited", then again to 2009 when I experienced it was a mind-blowing experience. I now very much want to read 1984 for comparison.

A great edition, especially with the intro by Hitchens. I wasn’t a big fan of Brave New World Revisited, though. I think too many people read the book expecting it to be like “1984”, and are then disappointed. To enjoy it, you have to stop wanting it to be like “1984”. Spoiler: my heart broke at the end of the book

I really tried with this one, but it just couldn't seem to keep my attention. I don't know what it was, maybe the lengthy and complicated sentence structure, or maybe it after I read the entire summary of the book it just didn't appeal to me anymore. I tried to read it because it's something I should've read in school and I might've enjoyed reading it with others to dissect it a bit more.

I didn't like this book that much. I think my mistake was reading it right after 1984 (which I loved). The scenario Huxley proposes is just as amazing as Orwell's one and both books makes you think about life and analyse our society.
The thing is I found A Brave New World tedious, I couldt read a chapter without getting bored. Reading the first chapters was like hell, instead of ejoying the lecture I was counting the pages to end it.
