Lucy Score

3.95 AVERAGE

After the last couple books I’ve read being disappointing, this was the pick me up I needed.

It’s been a minute since I’ve read a Lucy Score book, but this was a great reminder to myself how much I appreciate her story painting style.

Ran through this series and another by this author while I was sick in bed. Great cis romances, playing on thousands of tropes that I love and great, warm characters.

I enjoyed this book! It was a fun small town romance, with a sprinkling of pain here and there. The characters were great and I look forward to reading the other books in the series, to spend more time with those characters!

Spoiler One thing that confused me/didn't sit well with me about Karen and Luke. We find out that she was pregnant during his yearlong deployment, but she found out she was pregnant during this time period and wanted to wait until he was home for them to announce it to their families. The math isn't adding up. If she found out she was pregnant during his deployment, she would have already had the baby by the time he came home. The only way they'd be able to wait to announce it is if she got pregnant 8-9 months into his deployment...
This took me out of the story for a while because I was trying to figure out the timing. Obviously, nothing came of this, so I'm guessing it was just an oversight on the author's part.

Can somebody protect me like Luke please

Wow this was an emotional roller coaster for me loved this story so much and the family dynamic was soo sweet!

dark

I found this story challenging to finish because the smut was so ridiculously over the top. I ended up skimming through those sections in search of the storyline. Turns out, the storyline was like a nonstop (and unrealistic) soap opera.
