Just a cute, heart wrenching book. I cried, I laughed and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I love an easy romance read, especially the storyline where you know there’s a happily ever after coming - BUT I can’t not cringe at the icky spicy scenes. Not for me. 3.5 ⭐️
Oh Harper, as much as I rolled my eyes at times at how confident you were I admired your ‘put it all out there’ attitude in everything situation. Luke was the perfect amount of grump without being too much. So much of the story was in the last 25% I feel like the beginning could have been condensed slightly without losing much but I did enjoy the tension at the beginning!
Trigger warning: Domestic violence, harassment, previous child abuse
Slight grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, open door.

I just am in so much love. I was going to give this book a 4 out of five stars because I feel like there was a lot of set up for a big “accident” to happen with either Glenn or with fmc’s adoptive father that had been threatening her life since she was 18. I didn’t like that mmc just out of nowhere came over the perfect solution to take away the problem, but the reason I added the Starbucks is because of the last chapter and the karaoke night and the wonderful amazing characters that showed up for fmc. Harper was so loved in that little town, and they showed it to her. I love each and everyone of those characters and the supermarket scene was absolutely hilarious with them all banning together. In the end, it is a five out of five because everyone was so lovely.
And I’m so in love with Aldo.

This book was okay. There were equal parts I liked and didn’t like. This story follows the classic storyline of a romance (meet, resist falling, fall…)
Things I liked:
- light: this book was a nice light read that wasn’t overly complicated. If you are looking for a quick easier read then look no further.

I am a sucker for a military romance. This one was a great read. I felt for Harper and her sorted past, and heartbroken for Luke and his past. So happy the got the HEA. Definitely take the time to go read the epilogues, loved them so much!
3.5/4 I will never get over a spicy hallmark movie book!!! This is everything ugly love wished she could be tbh. Only reason I gave it 3.5 stars is because it felt a bit rushed at the end and the way Luke is in bed confused me but all in all good book ready for the next 2!

Kind of hard to rate because on one hand, I loved the concept, setting, characters, etc., but I just can't find it in me to like the main guy character Luke. Harper may forgive him but I haven't! She is too good for him I fear. However, I do love Luke's family and the rest of the side characters, so I may continue with the series as the next book is from Gloria and Aldo's POV and I think they're great!
I. Don’t. Know. How. I’ll. Recover. After. This.
My thoughts and emotions are all over the place. The raw intensity, the flow of the story, interactions between characters, just everything was pure wonder. The instant connection between Harper and Luke, I could feel the tension through the pages. Two complete strangers, with total opposite past, and different futures, find themselves being pulled to the other.
I was captivated by everything in this book. Harper’s ability to see the good in anything given the way she grew up shows the strength and endurance she is capable of. The relationships she develops over time and how she helps everyone around her is incredible.
Being stuck in the past has a vise grip on shattering Luke’s future. Punishing himself for things out of his control, thinking he doesn’t deserve to be happy or move on. But the people around him have had enough of watching him fall apart.
The relationship that blossomed between Aldo and Harper had me laughing and crying. Harper’s connection with Sophie and Gloria was bond that would never break. And landing the town where she finally felt at home. Luke had challenges that are incomprehensible and unimaginable. But working through them and finding support in his family and friends, he is able to see through the darkness.
“Luke rarely divided his attention, making it seem like he was always fully focused on the task at hand. It was that focus that Harper felt every time he looked at her. She felt important. Worthy. Interesting.”
“Baby, you and I both know that this was something special. But I’m not surprised. I knew from the second I saw you, the moment you opened those beautiful gray eyes and looked up at me, that I needed to be inside you.” He tugged her hand up to his mouth and placed a kiss on her palm. “I don’t know what’s happening here, but you’re in my head and my blood. There was no way that this was not going to happen.”
“Should I really be taking advice from a man who’s never been married?” “Don’t have to jump off the cliff to know you die at the bottom.”
