I think this was a really good book! I enjoyed the different POVs, and the way the symbolism was interwoven with the story was amazing.

The reason I gave it four stars is bc I took a long break in between and forgot some stuff in the book haha.

Will be rereading the series next year.

It was one of the best fantasy series I've ever read. The only negative thing about the series is that it's too long :DDD

All the worst POVs with uninteresting plot lines. I would honestly say you can skip this and just go straight to the fifth book.

3.50/5 Many people have said that the drop in quality from ASOS to AFFC is staggering. While I do agree with their statement, I still believe that AFFC is a worthwhile entry into the series.

The main reason for the drop in quality is that some character POVs (Brienne’s) seem like they drag on forever, without advancing the story at all. There were however new character POVs, like Cersei’s that interspersed the chapters of, “I’m looking for a maiden of three-and-ten, with a fair face and auburn hair.” That sentence pretty much sums up all of Brienne’s chapters throughout the books (which were a lot, and long).

Character POV Rankings:
1. Cersei Lannister
2. Jaime Lannister
3. Alayne
4. Arya Stark
5. Victarion Greyjoy
6. Arianne Martell
7. Aeron Damphair
8. Samwell Tarly
9. Brienne of Tarth

Mmm...

Easily my least favorite of the series. A lot of my favorite characters are absent, the pace is slow. The only one of the series that felt like a slog
