This book was ridiculously stupid. It is one of those books that is completely unbelievable and has a big twist, but it's so stupid. Nobody could pull off the dual life that this killer did. It was like a train wreck that you can't stop looking at. It was so ridiculous, yet I had to finish it to find out who the killer was. This was my first book by this author and likely my last. It had Freida McFadden vibes, and I am not a big fan of her books. If you like books with little sustenance, unrealistic plot and twists, then this is your book. If you like books that add value to your life, leave this one on the shelf. I will give it 2.25 stars simply because I finished it to see who the bad guy was, and it gave me insight into the author's writing style so that I don't waste any more time reading her.

The plot was original and entertaining. The writing though felt very amateurish. I believe this is one of the author’s earlier publications. I’ve read ones released more recently and the writing doesn’t feel as basic. There was a certain conversation between the main character and her mom on the phone that felt similar to something I would’ve written in high school.

Honestly, I don’t even know what to say. I tend to gravitate toward psychological thrillers with new moms at the center, but this one took a turn I didn’t see coming. Definitely check the trigger warnings before you start.

A couple buys a home in a new town, only to discover that every child is at risk in a strange pattern of hit lists that arrive every 6 months. Determined to advocate for the innocent lives at risk, this new resident begins her search to track down others who are willing to fight back, with or without her husbands’ support.

A unique plot with a fast pace that eventually leads to an unexpected revelation.
While interesting,  there are too many character names to keep track of, and the “odd choice” that needs to be made at the end is unrealistic and doesn’t quite work.

I enjoyed the book but one of the characters had me upset every time they came in. Seems it was justified.
