Wow!! 2nd chance, Forbidden love! Does it get any better? I thought for sure after maybe the first 4 or 5 chapters this book was going to hurt. But when it comes full circle and you realize he loved her so much that he’d sacrifice IT ALL for her, you’ll fall in love instantly, I did. Nicco is just amazing as a man and he loves Isabella more than everything and is convinced to prove it. Unfortunately his father is their biggest hurdle. This is another must read. I enjoyed still getting a look at Luxe & Matteo and how their life/love has been going and the friendship she builds with Izzy❤️ give meeee moreeeeee, I can’t wait to read Enzo’s story!!!

Where do I find the words…this book was everything. I don’t know what T. Priceton does when she writes but whatever she put in here made me hooked from the beginning and I didn’t want to put the book down or want it to end.

Right away we are hit with the drama 3 years after Nicco breaks Isabella’s heart. So as you might assume she still is hurt and not over it all as he was the love of her life. But I gotta say I loved how Nicco never gave up trying to break down Isabella’s walls. Then we get some glimpses into the past when they broke up and my goodness this is when the emotions will hit you.

I don’t want to say much more about the story as I don’t want to give it all away but you need to read this. This series is turning out to be a top favorite mafia series as well as a top mafia author!

I loved the Romeo & Juliet feel of this story: the forbidden love, families at war, the tragedy - so good. This was definitely a softer side of the DiMaggio family though, which made sense given it is Isabella’s story. I liked the juxtaposition between the two stories because they were reflective of the DiMaggio siblings.
I was gutted by what happened with Nicco and Isabella in college. I hated how that was handled and it was hard for me to recover from that. But I love a good man obsessed trope and Nicco is absolutely a man obsessed. He does a really good job redeeming himself.
I love the dynamic of the DiMaggio siblings. I really enjoyed Izzy and Enzo in Matteo and seeing her view of Matteo and Enzo in this book added to the story for me. I also really liked getting to see more of the relationship between Izzy + Lux (and Liana).

OMG! This book was literally amazing. The first book was awesome. So I went into book 2 super excited. And boy did this Not disappoint.
Mafia Romances aren’t always easy for me, but the way T Priceton writes one just gives me the best vibes. Like every time I've read one of her stories, I’ve been nothing but satisfied.
OK, so like I love Nicco!!! Like he is everything and more. I love a man who is going to go and get revenge, and then also make it his life‘s mission to get his girl back. The love he had for Isabella was undeniable, and all the pain will be at the go through to be back with her made me just want them to win more.
Isabella is a queen. Everything about her character was phenomenal. I knew that the hurt that she felt was going to be so strong in the story, and I love that it was really expressed well. Even though there were times where she wasn’t sure how she really felt, she never faltered from who she was . She was such a well written character that I think I found myself really internalizing her pain in her struggles. But I just knew that her love for Nicco would never end.
The drama in the story is top-tier. I love how it carries on from the past, and then to the present. The set up was wonderful, I love that we got to see them when they were at the University, and we actually got to see what really happened Because it made the fight better. It made you understand why he did the things he did to protect her.
There were so many moments where I was literally screaming, because I just wanted her to see all the work that he had done. But I knew he had to take time to get her. I also really love that we still got to see Matteo and Enzo. Matteo cracks me up because he is still so down bad for his wife, but still plays that major boss role and it made me laugh so much.
Enzo also made me laugh a lot. Him not believing in love is such a good setup for his story.
My favorite scene out of the entire book is the bathroom scene when she is on her date with Massimo. I just found myself laughing so much but also it was everything and more. Nicco really had a lot of tricks up his sleeve.
His dad definitely got what he deserved. I wanted Matteo to be the one to take care of it lol 😂
Overall, definitely one of my favorite reads of the year. I highly recommend the series if you’re looking for mafia romance, that might be a little bit easier for you to get into. I adore this series and can’t wait to read book 3. Thank you T. for allowing me to read this book once again. And super proud of you for this book.
