Finally some answers! Also enjoyed the mystery, was a fun read!

Really fun.

Her cousin has his head up his ass, seriously. But hopefully he'll learn his lesson.

Also, I'm a little worried about the relationship with Aidan. I just ... I don't see the point of it. I want to get invested with the character - I really like Aidan - but we keep getting hit over the head with the fact that werewolves just don't mate with non-wolves, so ... I just don't know. And it is frustrating because Aidan seems frustrated that she's looking at it that way, but how else can she look at it? He's said he won't marry her. He's made it clear that there's no future here, not really. What is he looking for here?

Have you read or listened to a book and just didn't think of why you're enjoying it so much because you're so emersed in the story, characters, and events?

Yeah, that's how I feel with this book and series.

Keri's writing is amazing. She never overwhelms me with world details. She layers them in with the events happening and why things are the way they are. She drops tidbits that I know will come up later in Lizzie's life, or Aiden's life, or any characters life. You know there's going to be more details to come and there's likely going to be events that have it surface. And I look forward to learning them.

The narrator. I've not mentioned much about her yet, and that's a shame on me. The narrator for the audio books is amazing. She voices each character in their own fashion. They each have a voice, tone, and personality that comes through. Also, the accent. Out of the park! The world is set in Australia, and Katherine voices it. I like that the accent is there, but it's not overly done to make it hard to listen to the story. So well done.

I'm already listening to the next book. :)

Rating 4/5

So far, all the Lizzie Grace books are a 4/5 for me. They are all quite enjoyable and I don't feel like they should get anything less than 4/5.

That said, they also aren't fantastic. There are books that I rate 4/5 star and I know that I'm going to re-read thousands of times after I finished them, but I know that this series Is not going to be among them. I MAY re-read it in the future in a moment of boredom and if I don't want to re-read for the uptenth time one of my classic re-reads. But that's it. I don't feel so impatient that I HAVE to read the next one immediately

It's Just that there Is no true love for the character or the universe.
I like them. They are interesting, funny and smart. But I am also NOT attached to them in any way. I don't really love any of them. They are all quite likeable but that's where It ends.
And while the plot can be interesting, it's never something completely captivating.

But what I think is the real "weakness" of this series is the romance. I don't really care for it that much.
And I don't feel like Lizzie and Aiden HAVE to be together.
I feel like they are ok together. But It doesn't feel like they truly complement or complete each other. They don't feel like pieces of puzzle that fit together in ways they wouldn't with any other.
To me It feels like they fit, but that there could also be much better option for them "outside", that there could be someone else that fits better and I Just wished they were Just temporary live interest....which Is something that I NEVER do. I usually want a single love interest and having more than One throughout the series annoys me.
Yet, in this case, I really would prefer It of they just momentary, understand that they don't quite work out so that there can be a better love interest for Lizzie..
By the way, I like Aiden as a character, I Just don't really feel the chemistry between him and Lizzie not do I particularly like them together.

Overall, I think the romance is lukewarm, a bit wishy-washy and somewhat boring.

That said, it's still a solid read and a solid series. A good way to pass time and a decente paranormal series to read.

A series that just keeps getting better, with both the grim and the fluffy nicely intertwined with decent world building and character development. I'm really enjoying this run.

So this was fun but I feel like in some sense the world is beginning to show some cracks - or rather, it's beginning to demonstrate that this is a fun, light urban fantasy series with no aspirations towards being anything more profound or meaningful (or re-readable). Lizzie and Belle have spent the last few books encouraging the reservation elders to hire a trained witch from Canberra (whence they have both fled, changed their names, and are avoiding some seriously nasty people) and apparently gave zero thought to actual plans if the witch turned out to be someone they recognized (who would recognize them)... and lo and behold, he is. The fact that they just hadn't figured out or even discussed what they would do in this instance is silly. Similarly, Arthur has started sprinkling in information and hints about what and who Belle and Lizzie are running from... and again, it doesn't really make sense (and also isn't something I'm looking forward to reading).
SpoilerWhen it was Lizzie's angry parents, it made sense: they don't think she's powerful, they unfairly blame her for her sister's death, and it seems totally logical that they would just be relieved that an embarrassment has taken herself out of their way. However, now we learn that she was married against her will to a powerful, significantly older witch who attempted to rape her and is desperate for children (to the point of having divorced one wife and killed another in childbirth) - so this guy (a) was humiliated by Lizzie's running away and (b) can't have legitimate children until he gets Lizzie back and either kills or divorces her. Given that Lizzie will obviously be traveling with the distinctively beautiful Belle, hasn't so much as tried to dye her hair - and has alienated other witches while in hiding - it seems implausible that this guy would not be trying to track her... and frankly that he wouldn't have been successful by now.

Marked To-Read: I am excited for this. Maybe we’ll finally learn more about Lizzie’s parents and the past events!

Review: What can I say, I like this. The characters are amusing and relatable, the action is there but so is the humor and the seriousness. There’s character growth too, even if the much teased arrival of the new witch was a bit of a case of subverted expectations. Anyway, the story continues and I continue to like and wait for the next!

4 stars. I'm still enjoying this urban fantasy series.
