Annie Rains is a solid choice if you are looking for a sweet, clean, heartwarming book. Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is no exception. Chase has returned to the small-town of Sweetwater Springs to take over as the veterinarian and help with his sister-in-law and nephew after his brother runs into trouble. He loves being back in town but running into his first love brings back all sorts of feelings. Sophie was head over heels for Chase years ago and loved to climb with him until an accident crushed her leg and had her pushing him away. He's back now and she's not sure how she feels about that.

This book is a great story of second chances. Deeper than that is two people working to overcome past hurts...both physical and emotional to see if they can be together again. I loved that they were fairly quick to acknowledge their old feelings while also realizing that you can't ever really go back to the past. The characters from former books in the series pop in here and there making it that much more fun. That being said, this book works well as a standalone. Finally, I love that this book has another sweet, fun-loving dog. Comet is a character unto himself.

I really enjoyed this newest release from Rains and, as always, look forward to reading more from her.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for and ARC of this book. The opinions here are my own.

This was a cute book to end the series with -- it dealt with the town clothing boutique owner, Sophie Daniels, reconnecting with her ex, Chase Lewis. Like all of the other books in the series, the romance also included a cute dog in the tale. As I have said before, these books feel like Hallmark movie in written form: they are fairly wholesome, cute, and a bit cheesy. However, I enjoyed the kitsh and found it a fast paced and welcome distraction.

Every book Annie Rains writes is a work of art, and if you haven't picked up a book in the series yet, this might be a great place to start! A tale of second chance romance is exactly what this world needs right now, when we may feel all is lost and there's no going back to getting what we had before. I'm not always a fan of these due to the general angst involved, but Annie Rains did an amazing job telling the story with believable characters and a compelling backstory to make us all end up in tears at the end of the book. If you're on the fence about love when you start the book, you'll believe in love again by the end.

Sophie Daniels is in a rush to get to a friend's wedding when a dog runs into the road right in front of her car. Not knowing how badly he is injured, Sophie can only think of one person to take him to and it's the one person she least wants to see - Chase Lewis. Chase used to be her boyfriend, before a bad fall while climbing resulted in her leg being crushed and her plans for college being put on the backburner. In an effort to protect him from dealing with her suddenly stilted future, she pushed him away, and now that he's returned, it's painful to see him at all. Chase never forgot about Sophie, and when she asks him to care for the dog, he immediately wants to help. As the dog is healing and they spend more time together, they realize their feelings for each other never truly went away. But their past is full of pain and hurt feelings, and even love may not be enough to mend the wounds.

It was so easy to fall in love with this couple! From the first time the reader meets each of them, they immediately feel relatable and warm. Sophie was a sweetheart, with a kind soul but wounded spirit, and as soon as I realized she had lost her true love long ago, I immediately wanted her to get it back. Chase was an easy guy to like, with his veterinary practice and obvious care for animals, as well as his genuine affection for Sophie, in spite of all that happened between them. He had his own problems on the side, with a brother in jail and a nephew looking to him as a role model, and I could feel the pressure that was put on him. He needed Sophie, and Sophie needed him, they just both weren't sure of that right away. It was a slow burn romance at first, as they were hesitant to start anything, but it became clear quickly that one kiss would not be enough. I was rooting for them the whole way, and the book ended perfectly, exactly how I would have liked it to end. There were some bumps in the road getting there, but that was necessary for them both to heal enough to see their love for each other.

As always, brava to Annie Rains! Another enjoyable read and one to share with family and friends whenever they come asking for a recommendation.

Can’t believe this is the last Sweetwater Springs book. I’m happy I got to read Sophie and Chase’s story. While I struggled with their very black and white perspective at times, it was great to see them each reach a gray area and accept each other and themselves. I look forward to more Annie Rains books in the future!

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Reunited on Dragonfly Lane was another book I picked up almost solely because of the cute dog on the cover. And the pun in the blurb (“paws-ible?) warmed my heart and made me chuckle.

And given my past experiences with small-town romance, I felt like I enjoyed it well enough in comparison. It’s a fun, cozy story set in a picturesque small town, and in that aspect, it works. There’s a real element of community, and even jumping in with book 7, I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything in terms of that dynamic that may have been established prior.

I did find the romance itself a bit lackluster. On the surface it’s got a lot of potential, and a lot of that is due to them bonding over Comet, a dog with an injured leg. But in spite of them having a past romance together, I just never felt like there was anything substantial between them. They do have some qualities that made me at least like them somewhat and feel they had potential on their own, especially Chase, with his familial problems as he finds himself taking care of his nephew with his brother in jail. But I never got the impression that these two together made sense.

I understand Annie Rains is well loved in the small town romance genre, especially given her books are on the sweet side with no sex. However, despite some of those elements often working for me, they just didn’t this time. I do feel a more experienced reader of her work will enjoy this, given the largely favorable early reviews from people who are presumably part of her established audience.

I received a gifted copy of this book from Forever Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love second chance romances and Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is the perfect example of such a romance trope. I liked the characters and the story all made up for a very easy, lighthearted romance read. Nothing too complicated - aside from the brother in prison bit - but otherwise, this is the type of romance that I tend to prefer. It’s nice to read something without an overblown plot or dramatic characters that make you question the entire premise. It appears that this book is the seventh in the series and I may be looking into reading the first six books as I quite enjoyed my first Annie Rains.

Annie Rains should be a household name when it comes down to clean, contemporary romance novels. Because of Reunited on Dragonfly Lane, I’m now a big fan of the author.

Once inseparable, Sophie Daniels and Chase Lewis were the peanut butter and jelly of all couples — you couldn’t have one without the other. Until, one day a dreadful accident occurs leaving Sophie scarred not only physically, but emotionally as well. The accident causes a wedge to develop between Chase and Sophie, forcing a breakup in Chase and Sophie’s relationship.

Then one day, Sophie is forced to confront Chase, who is now the town’s only veterinarian, to help with Comet, a puppy injured with a broken leg. What follows is the push-pull of emotions that compels Chase and Sophie to re-evaluate themselves and each other.

Reunited on Dragonfly Lane is a heartwarming novel that will surely pull your heartstrings and at the same time, make you feel that second chances are maybe all you need in life and love. Five stars. I loved it.
