I am adding a star because after digesting this book for several months, I realize the genius of the book. I rated so quickly after reading that it took me awhile to get over the ick factor.

One thing I'd like to point out is that people seem to equate this as to those cringey PETA posts when it's never really about eating animal meat in the first place. We get one mention of vegans and never again. It's about class, power structure and capitalism; a depraved eat-or-be-eaten hellscape maximized.

For a book that's just gore porn, it's pretty well written. I found it really disturbing and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But still, I couldn't put it down. I read it in a day because I wanted to know what the next messed up thing I would read. 

I did see the ending. I found it to be lack luster and unfinished. It still does demonstrate the dark side of humanity. 

The main character demonstrates a morally grey character who demonstrates that a person isnt inherently bad but is due to their circumstances. Despite his distan for his circumstance he does nothing to change it. Over all a realistic example of a human.
