No complaints - exactly what I was hoping it would be! Mark gives us everything we want and more as fans, addressing all that went on behind the scenes. And his experiences with cancer, anxiety and depression were interesting to learn about. He’s open and straightforward about his struggles.  It’s an entertaining and tender-hearted read. Fun to listen to his narration on the audiobook too!

anyone who knows anything about me knows how massive a role blink-182 has played in my life. reliving all of these moments, the highs and lows, really took me back to where i was when all of it happened. it was interesting to hear it from the other side—and honestly, one of my only complaints is that i wanted more. i think there are parts where the pacing glides through too quickly and i wanted those details.

my favorite part of this was hearing about the songwriting and production. i love hearing about craft. i also love hearing about tours. it was really emotional to read about mark’s mental health throughout, too. how it was affected by these changes, how that impacted everything else. it was very honest and un-glamorous.

the only place this book really lost points for me was the post 9/11 section. sure, it reflects the spirit of the moment or whatever but the weird american propaganda was not for me. groan.

all in all though, i flew through this book for a reason. a lot of it was stuff i already know but there were some things i didn’t, and it was worth it to see that side of things. if only this thing was doubled in length—hey, that’s what she said!

As much as I would have loved for this memoir to delve more into the past decade or so of the band, I get why the last few chapters were rushed. Those were some of the worst years of Mark's life. In the end, I'm glad this book spent more time focusing on the main highs and lows of the band. It won't illuminate any real details that most fans of the band won't have already heard before, but it's still a captivating and refreshing memoir nevertheless.

Wow. So cool to get a glimpse of what it's like being in a touring band. Also so many fun facts about blink-182 that I never knew. Very compelling memoir peppered with dick jokes, one-and-a-million chances, optimism, and songs that'll get stuck in your head.

Great quick read on audio. Wish this was longer. I’ve been a fan of blink-182 for a long time, so the moment I found out Mark Hoppus wrote a memoir I knew I needed to read it.
It’s interesting to know how it all came to be, the ups and downs, how he met Skye, Tom leaving and coming back, and the cancer diagnosis. The way Mark talked about his struggles and neuroses, I couldn’t help but feel bad, but I also felt like I was not alone.

I’ve read a lot of memoirs over the years and I definitely enjoyed the writing in this one and the style. If you’re a fan of blink-182 and enjoy memoirs, it’s a must read.
