Too many of the relationships in the book had their Weight built up off screen so I couldn't really buy the dramatic language used to describe how they felt about each other. Really enjoyed the beginnings of the Lev/Sasha pairing, but again then it was suddenly they are All In and i didn't buy it! Would've liked more exposition on the borough outside of the two families/how witches operate. epilogue was cute!

"You are you, an entire whole, all on your own. If you have loved and been loved, then you can only be richer for it-- you don't become a smaller version of yourself simply because what you once had is gone."

Cycle of abuse next level, a scale delicately balanced in blood.

6⭐️

This book is everything I hoped it would be and more. The complexity of these characters and the way that Olivie explains their feelings and emotions is beautifully done and so addicting!
mysterious reflective tense fast-paced

I very much enjoyed the first half of the book but the second half lacked any momentum. I felt some scenes were sorted of repeated and the same plot twist over used to the point it got pouring and didn't add anything to build any tension for the books conclusion.

I knew I had to read the last 200 pages in one sitting otherwise I may have DNFed.

Was so obsessed in the first half, I love romeon/Juliet where they're just obsessively in love with each other. Second act was okay.

Olivie Blake has and will always be one of my favorite authors. Her writing is so beautiful and raw that I literally feel everything like a stab in my chest. This book was not only a great story, but a powerful one about love and family, and the lengths we go to for the people we love. Have to say, this book has made it to my top 5
