Good minus the fact I find it very impossible to come back from killing ones after
I think it needed more world building, more reason to be connected to the characters. It wasn't bad, it just kinda felt like every other romantasy novel I've read lately.
Literally only finished it because I didn’t want to feel like I wasted my time. Plot wasn’t bad I just felt like the characters were going too much back and forth
Ladies and gentlemen, this was a rush job. I am only at 38% but the plot holes are big enough to understand this piece needed a bit more editing and writing to become amazing. I will read on but I doubt that my rating will improve.

I feel like this book had a lot of potential, but for me it just fell flat. I found the writing really disconnected and hard to understand. At points, I wasn't even really sure who was talking and had to go back and re-read it to make sure I was understanding things correctly. I also didn't really feel like the history, world-building, or magic system was very flushed out. A lot of it was just very briefly mentioned and we were told it was important, but then it never came up again, which made me wonder how important it actually was to the story. I didn't really feel very connected to the characters, so I didn't feel as invested in the story. I also didn't feel that the romance was actually romance, it was just lust and there wasn't any substance to it. I think there were a lot of aspects to this book that really had potential, but for me it just wasn't my favorite.

Though a wealth of red flags, this book was entertaining. It was basically a mash-up of classic tales such as Rumpelstiltskin, The Swan Princess, and Beauty and the Beast but with lots of

It's hard to say if I would like this book more if I didn't listen to it. But truly, one of the worst male narrator voices I've heard. Disney villain vibes. Super off-putting. Maybe this narrator usually works in a different genre?

This is my third read by Ella Fields.I loved the other books by her that I read, they were full of angst and heartbreak. This one I didn't quite enjoy it. It is YA and I didn't connect with the characters. Besides that, I didn't enjoy the male narrator. I really didn't. :(
