This book did not really stand out to me. I was wanting to read a werewolf story, and this scratched that itch, but that’s about it. I found both of the main characters annoying. I thought that it was kind of weirdly paced a bit. I don’t know if that was just cause I was bored for most of the book. Don’t get me wrong it was an okay book, just nothing special. Overall I rated it 3 stars

When the Wolf Falls for the Swan

This book finally broke my reading slump—and I’m so glad I read it with my book club. Ella Fields blends myth and fantasy in a lush enemies-to-lovers romance that’s as angsty as it is addictive.

It was entertaining, I enjoyed some of the characters but there weren't any side characters that stood out. I didn't connect well with Opal, she didn't have something. IDK what, but she never had that "moment" where you really like a character despite their flaws. The world building was a little lax, and they had way too much magic. There are so many different kinds of magic that the MCs had, that was weird and lazy IMO. Ella Fields writes enemies to lovers really well though, there are some great tension and hate moments. I don't know if I care enough about the world to read book 2, we'll see.

Rough last third. DNF’d at the epilogue because it was enough and life is short
