Intense! Dare I say Hunt is my favourite SJM man? As steadfast as Rowen, as fierce as Rhysand, with the physicality and personality of Cassian?

The ending 🤌🏻

WHAT.

Just a good sequel fantasy book

OH MY GOD THAT LAST PAGE. IM DYING. IM NOT WELL. I AM NOT WELL.

Otherwise— the last few chapters felt very science-fiction-y, which I wasn’t in love with. The sex scenes were okay, I loved ACOSF more. But holy shit, that last bit… wow. Sarah. It’s time.

the ending!!!! i need more now!!! tad bit boring in the middle but the last 100 pages are perfection. i love love love sjm’s side characters so much! can not wait for the next book!

I had to wait a full day before writing this review. I would rate this book 4.5 stars. It has a lot of information/plots to keep up with. I mean a lot of differnt things going on that can be confusing if you aren't paying close attention. I feel that some could have been left out for the sake of simplicity. These side plots would easily be good for novellas instead of being crammed into one large book.

Spoiler The overall book was amazing and had me gushing. First, Hunt and Bryce finally get together and are actual mates. Which is weird being that they are different races, but whatever. They are a cute couple and I love how Maas writes their snarky interactions.

Next, the fact that the Asteri are scum and feeding off the citizens is insane. What Bryce and her friends find out is just crazy. I knew they were evil, but not to that extent. Like, they use the drop to gain power and then the second light to gain more power. Which causes them to live forever? And this isn't the first "world" they have fed. It turns out they have been to many different worlds where they have either killed them off to absorb all the power or destroyed them because they weren't powerful enough. Now that Bryce has this knowledge she is seeking to find a way to end their rule.

Finally the multiverses have come together! The very end of the book had me feeling sad and cheering at the same time. The moment Maas mentioned the winged males, small female, and brunett females I knew where Bryce was. I'm super excited to read book 3 and see how the interaction or Bryce and those in the ACOTAR series is portrayed. My hopes are high as ACOTAR is my favorite series by Maas.
