This gave me Peter Swanson vibes. Many characters, many storylines that all merge eventually, a lot of drama, a lot of mystery. If you like cheesy and dramatic Law and Order: SVU episodes, it's probably worth a read just for funsies (just don't tell anyone I told you that - I'm trying to come off as aloof and discerning).

The first 100 pages were pretty uneventful, I thought it‘d be worth it in the end but unfortunately for me I‘m not sure it was. Especially the Henry chapters bored me - until I realised he’s the only remotely likeable character, apart from maybe West, Bruce & Lulu and they’re just side characters. I don’t like the way the women are written (as if by a man), and maybe there were too many characters. Also the writing is kind of repetitive; that wouldn’t bother me too much if I really liked the book - like in Confessions on the 7:45 - but unfortunately I enjoyed this one a lot less. The take on family was a little weird, on the one hand “family is about who you choose“, on the other hand “my brother killed a cat, raped a girl & I wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d killed his wife. He‘ll always be my brother and I love him though“
