I loved the vibes of this book. It is creepy, the characters are horrible, and I found myself taken with some kind of fascination/wondering as to which couple was the worst š. I definitely suggest going into this book blind but know it is slow burn and I found it more character driven. Everybody is hiding something, and speculating was definitely fun, but not everything was explained, and sometimes things just worked out so nicely for the characters, which was a bit frustrating.

Two storylines, one current day with flashbacks, the other starting years ago and progressing to current day to (finally) merge with the other story.
It was completely far-fetched, convoluted and throw in some supernatural just to make it even more ridiculous. And letās throw in the creepy peepy cabin-owner to add to the hot mess.
I was ready for this to be over at about 40%.
Two stars because I liked Henry and Gigi and no animals were harmed (or included at all).

I didnāt expect the direction this book went it. It was intriguing at first, however, towards the end of the book - it seemed a little strained at how everything was tied together. The monologues and dialogue at the end was a tad bit cheesy.
Moderate: Rape
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Audio for this advanced audiobook copy, but truthfully I did not enjoy this. This story did not work for me or entertain me in any way.
This story is basically your usual locked room mystery in a cabin during a storm. Lots of different POVs, plenty of secrets being kept by each character, and a slew of unlikeable characters. However, they didnāt even actually arrive at the cabin until like 20% in I believe (could have been a little later), so a lot of the first 20% was information about our main character Hannah and things going on in her personal life as theyāre preparing for this trip. We got to learn about some of her family drama and sheās suspecting her husband is cheating on her, so sheās dealing with feelings of insecurity and paranoia.
This book simply had too many POVs, and some of them genuinely did not feel necessary to the story. Thereās Hannah, our main character and protector of her family, her best friend Cricket whoās main personality trait is that sheās a hot busty blonde and is āeasyā and who is still in love with Hannahās brother Michael. Michael, who goes by some other variation like Maeko - (without the text Iām not sure about the spelling) and Cricket have been broken up for years and he has since married someone else. His wife Liza is also one of the POVs, and then lastly we have the Pervy cabin owner, a suspicious woman who is Michaelās ex-assistant, and a young boy who ended up without a home when his mother is killed and we follow him as he grows up. Lots of different perspectives, but a ton that just didnāt seem to fit. Thereās also a ton of side characters in the cabin and in flashbacks that were hard to follow.
Ultimately, nothing really happened until 40% in and even when things did start happening they were underwhelming. When the final reveal and twist happened I was so done with this book that I didnāt care. The plot was all over the place, and this could have been cut down a ton of pages and still would have been a fine story.
Perhaps I would have felt differently if I had the book instead of the audiobook. This book was also pretty dark and had some triggers such as rape in the plot.
All in all, I canāt really rate this more than 1 star. If this wasnāt an ARC I would have DNFed, but I donāt like to do that when I am gifted these books to read.

Engaging and super easy read! I liked the dynamics of the group and I feel like the build up to the big twists were great. Any thriller book in a cabin has my name all over it.
