I really enjoy learning about different cultures in the books I read. Amy Tan does a fantastic job of portraying Chinese culture; I could hear LuLing & her broken English as if she were sitting in the room with me. I love the themes of writing & voice, the passing of stories from mother to daughter. Definite good read!
