I was going to give this 2 stars for all the film noir and classic movie references, but then the ending happened. I had a good portion of the story figured out pretty early on and the parts that managed to surprise me, also disappointed.

This thriller has been compared to Gone Girl (which I couldn’t stand) and Girl on the Train (which I never read probably because it was compared to Gone Girl). The Woman in the Window is a fairly fast paced read which in no way was like Gone Girl. The main character although an unreliable narrator was likable/sympathetic and a well developed character. I thought the old movie references added to the story line. The twists were many but somewhat predictable which is why I gave it 3 Stars.

I guessed all of the twists no matter how little or big they were.
