I hate now quick she fell in love with this man she knows nothing about.

whole book is basically just smut and a bit of plot.

this girl speaks in way too many riddles.  It’s like she craves the miscommunication between the two of them.

I really wanted to stop around 60% way through, but I hate stopping books in the middle. The plow is pretty guessable though. It’s super fast pace and it’s a pretty cliché mafia romance. “We can never be together” vibe.

I do not enjoy the sub plot of  “smack my ass-ery” We get that y’all are kinky or whatever but do you have to keep bringing it up every single second. And the part where he literally pulls his pants down and invite her to hit him. This has gone too far. If I wasn’t so sure this book is a mafia romance, I would think it’s a comedy.

I also hate her best friend. She’s annoying af

This book kinda reminds me of haunting Adeline; another really bad series

The ending was pretty surprising so at least its got that going for it

Had potential, but didn’t deliver for me.

I really wanted to love Ruthless Creatures. The premise was intriguing—a woman mourning her fiancé’s mysterious disappearance and a dark, enigmatic stranger entering her life? Sign me up. Unfortunately, the execution just didn’t work for me.

The biggest issue was the pacing. The story felt slow and drawn out in the beginning, but then suddenly rushed when the romance started to pick up. The relationship felt more insta-lust than believable connection, and while I don’t mind spice in a dark romance, I struggled to connect with the characters emotionally.

Nat (the main character) had some witty moments, but her reactions sometimes felt inconsistent. And while Kage was meant to be the brooding, dangerous love interest, his development felt shallow. There was a lot of telling rather than showing when it came to his depth and backstory.

Also, some of the dialogue felt a bit cringey and over-the-top. I found myself rolling my eyes instead of being drawn into the tension. It had all the ingredients of a gripping, angsty romance, but it just didn’t click for me.

What I did like:
• The female friendships were genuinely sweet.
• Some emotional scenes had real promise.
• The idea behind the plot is interesting—it just didn’t fully land.

For me, it lacked the emotional depth and natural flow I look for in a dark romance.
