The tears I cried! What an absolutely beautiful continuation of a graphic novel series that has made such an impact on my heart 😭🫶🏼

This one really dives into mental health & understanding that love can’t heal someone all by itself.

I just adore Nick’s patience and tender heart as he continues to love and care for Charlie through his healing journey. And then Tori kicked that phone, I was cheering so loud! Way to go big sis👏🏼

Bless Alice Oseman for putting so much care into this pure hearted story of a boy falling in love with a boy, made for readers of all ages, in a world still rooted in hate. May this series find its way into the hands of those who truly need it💖

This volume was an emotional read. It delved deeper into some heavy topics, for both characters. I really loved Nick's talk with his mom about how love can't cure someone of their mental illness. We shouldn't go into relationships thinking we can fix people, but accept them as they are and support them through their difficulties. Even I needed reminding of this as an adult for my own relationship. It's a valuable lesson to learn as a teen. The reason why I didn't give this five stars is because I wanted a bit more from Charlie's perspective, given he's the character going through these serious life changes. Charlie's sister Tori is a savage and I love her as well, she had some good big sister moments in this volume. I look forward to reading the novel where she's the main character in the future.

This is my favorite volume so far! I love the realistic portrayal of when things start to get more serious in relationships, and how mental health can impact both yourself as a person and how you connect with others, while still showcasing the hopefulness of recovery.

Heartstopper Volume 4 is the fourth installment in the acclaimed Heartstopper series written by Alice Oseman.

In this volume, Charlie struggles with an
eating disorder
, which Nick suspects, but is nervous to approach him about. Nick is also dealing with his own issues; most notably, coming out to his father.

Of course, I have nothing but amazing things to say about the books in this series. I enjoyed this volume a lot. I liked seeing how strong Nick and Charlie's relationship has gotten throughout the series. The pair finally
said I love you to each other
, which made me smile so much. I also enjoyed Nick
standing up to his brother and father
, Tori
threatening Nick's brother, David
, and watching Charlie and Nick grow closer and trust each other. Additionally, I enjoyed seeing Mr. Farouk and Mr. Ajayi
end up as a couple, and the little mini-comic that outlined the 'firsts' in their relationship.
I would absolutely love a spin-off comic that would solely be about those two.

I am almost done with the entire series. I sort of look forward to watching the tv show as well (I'm only hesitant because of the casting :/).
