Grandma, it's me, Anastasia.gif

A fun and clever MG-ish read, straight up on the tropes, still charming.
adventurous mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot

A young orphan boy is plucked out the orphanage he lives in by a nobleman. He quickly discovers he is one of four boys who bear slight resemblances to each other who have been taken from other orphanages in the country. We soon learn that the nobleman has a plan to pass one of the boys off as the missing younger son of the royal family. What other secrets are waiting to be discovered?? A fast-paced read with strong characters and political intrigue. Looking forward to completing the trilogy!

2nd time through: I might have liked this a little better than the first time reading it. Maybe it's because I found it predictable the first time, and reading a second time predictability is expected. I still think I'll keep my rating at 3 stars, though.

1st read: I liked this well enough that I will probably read the second in the trilogy, but won't be in a hurry to get to it.

I loved this book! It kept me engaged the entire time! It was a little predictable at times, but I didn’t even mind because it was so fun and got me out of a reading slump :)

Real fun and fast paced! I enjoyed the sassy mc, however I will say sometimes the unreliable narrator reveals (like “remember this one part of the book where you thought this thing happened? Well I actually went and did this thing too and you’re finding out rn”) sometimes bordered on a little too convenient/ not entirely believable. But ultimately this didn’t affect my opinion tooo much.

Also I predicted the plot twist after reading the back cover mwua ha ha.

I definitely want to read the sequel! 4.2 ⭐️ Themed cocktail pending as we speak, book club is not ready
