Interesting plot, terrible execution. Very bland for the most part with some good snarky humor occasionally. The plot twist was shocking but it’s all it got going for it.
this book is about one nobleman's plot to turn an orphan boy into a long-lost prince to reclaim the throne. it's very interesting and thrilling and i'm excited to read more as the series continues.
Almost 4 stars, but it felt rushed in the end and the clues could have and should have been woven throughout the book.

It was AMAZING! This is the kind of book that was so easy to read and I finished it in 5 days.. but I think if i had a chill day i definitely could’ve finished this in one setting. The twist was so mind boggling, I was never bored at any part of the book, and it had a satisfactory ending. What more can I ask for? Love this book. I NEED to read the second!
I really liked this book! I was surprised by that fact. The end has a twist that I was not ready for!
I encountered this in a list of books called "The Next Hunger Games?" but in fact it's the next Megan Whelan Turner's "The Thief." Not in the sense of being just as awesome as "The Thief," unfortunately, but in the sense of being an imitator of it. But if you're going to imitate a book, that's a good one to pick, and it's quite fun, albeit predictable (at least if you've read "The Thief.")
