For what was advertised as a character-based novel, there is zero believable character development in this. The central romantic relationship felt predatory and, through a queer lens, extremely regressive. Reminded me of The Adult by Bronwyn Fischer, and not in a positive way. This book just made me feel frustrated and icky

It’s interesting seeing the same events and people from different perspectives. What is real? Are you what you think you are or what others see? The story and characters are complicated and I enjoyed reading about them.
