I really liked this. Comping it to Hill House is super obvious. A little *too* similar to feel super unique but I might just be thinking that because I recently watched Hill House so it’s fresh in my mind.
I was definitely confused during when the perspective changed for the third time but I think all my confusions/questions were answered by the end. If anything I think the end was a little rushed. It’s hard to explain the confusion with the timelines. Like yes I was confused but yes I was having a good time because I knew eventually the discrepancies would be resolved.
Also the scene where Ryan destroys his tarot card but then on the next page is holding it and looking down at it… maybe an editing thing??

This book was a bit of a fever dream. I was so confused throughout the whole thing but the ultimate twist was quite good.

This book started out really strong with Chelsea narrating the story in the present. I was really invested and really enjoying it. The mystery and atmosphere was intriguing.
The middle started to drag, as it talked about Kennedy and one of the earlier summers. Then the final third is narrated by Emily and it’s the summer before.
The twist was not something that I liked and was hoping it would be something else. Chelsea as a unreliable narrator due to mental illness is not something I enjoy in books either.
A big issue I had was all the narrators sounded the same so I found it confusing who was who and everything else about the final 3rd was far too confusing.

That ending had me shocked, the slow burn was totally worth it. I didn’t know how they were going to take this book since nothing was happening for a while but once the flashbacks started I knew this was going to be good. All the characters are so incredibly shitty to each other and lie constantly but still stay friends. I think that’s what makes the story so intriguing because why would you stay in that situation if it wasn’t good for anyone. The plot twist is the best one I’ve read in a while or ever. I took a point off just because it was a little bit too much of a slow burn for me but I think it works really well regardless.

Summer's Edge was an interesting YA horror thriller read! The story is told from three different points of view and dual timelines but it was still easy to follow along. The characters themselves are troubled, messy and sometimes a little dark teenagers! Ha sounds like all teenagers right! The pace is slow but there are plenty of twists and turns to keep you entertained! This is the kind of book that takes a patient reader. It's kinda like baking you add all the ingredients and then wait for it to cook and in the end you get a yummy treat! Well that's how this book is you get all of the twists turns and information and then it all comes together in the end! It's a good book to kick off the summer with!

I was enjoying it til the last hundred pages or so when it started to oddly get a little slow.
