this book made me want hit myself over the head with my phone. if you take the smut at face value, then sure, it was okay but the whole rest of the book had a plot that never needed to happen. Woman gets sexually assaulted multiple times after she says no but it’s all cool!! because her body is reacting!! and there is clearly nothing wrong with that :) Zade is a rapist who hunts down other rapists and acts like nothing is wrong and that he is above that. potential readers and actual readers, please don’t actually like guys like him. also how many times can this author use “your body weeps for me”
that phrase is cringy as hell.

overall, if you ignore the whole rape aspect, the smut was fine but if you wanted a good romance book, you’d be sorely mistaken.

I’m not sure if any of this is a spoiler but better safe then sorry. 

I liked when Zade was killing the terrible men but I hated him assaulting Adeline. It’s just is gross. I can get over the stalker part eventually but the assault I can’t get over. You can have sex like that but with consent. Horny is not an invitation. Sexual assault is not sexy. 

Being a hypocrite isn’t hot either. How can you fight against trafficking then proceed to assault your “love” and call her “little girl” in the process. I’m not one to kink shame, but you’d think after seeing pedophiles have little girls locked up for their pleasure, that’d be a major turn off, right?

 Adeline is low key insufferable. And so was Zade when he wasn’t killing people. 

The creepy vibes were great though. I also liked the setting.

This is a very dark book. Please read the trigger warnings before you even think about reading this book. 

From seeing how much this book has a divide on Booktok, I thought I would read it and see how I feel. With the fact I have read the Mind F series, I didn’t feel like it was as dark as Zade was kind of the same as the FMC in that book, in regards to what she does. 

But it doesn’t deter from how creepy zade is with his stalking of Addie, how he treats her physically etc. but this book did have plot and wasn’t all about the dark romance part of it. 

I did enjoy it and the spice was very spicy and very out there.
