Darcy and Rachel have always been best friends, Darcy always outshining Rachel. Until one night, Rachel wakes up next to Dex, Darcy's fiancee and then everything turns into chaos. Rachel and Dex find themselves caught up in an affair and no matter how hard they try to stop, they find themselves constantly going back to each other. Will it ever stop? Will Darcy ever find out? What will become of the wedding?

This book started very face paced and thrilling but after a while it started to turn into sort of a drag and some of the characters started to become very annoying, although the story starts to pick up a little towards the end, even though, I wouldn't recommend it.

Age: Probably 17 and over just because it is an adult novel

If you like this, you'll probably like: Queen of Babble By: Meg Cabot, The Wedding Girl By: Madeline Wickham

Bought this at the college bookstore and read a good portion while waiting in line for books. Very quick read and I liked the main character. Even though she made questionable decisions.

If you like Gossip Girl you'll love this book. It's the ultimate tea session because every single character was an awful person (besides Ethan and Claire). I am still in shock as I'm writing this. There is just no freaking way Rachel got her happy ending!! I'm also shocked that people seem to be rooting for her??? She is still the same insecure pick me girl at the end of the book. Darcy isn't much better either. I genuinely think the drama was worth the read, but if you try to root for ANYONE in this book please get some help.

it is what it is... chick lit... predictable, and sometimes interesting. it was ok. that is my take. as a re-reader of books, i probably won't read this again, but i enjoyed it enough to finish it.

This book was my post-Hunger Games read. For a chick flick, I enjoyed it quite a bit!

I won this book from the Goodreads First reads giveaway. First of all, I adore the design of Giffin's books. They are clean, simple, and elegant. But I have a hard time loving a book whose protagonist drives me crazy. And Rachel bugged me. She was such a doormat, and though I felt sorry for her, I didn't want her to compromise her values just to find her voice. The writing was well-done and the character were clearly drawn. But I do wish that it had ended differently.

I read this book because I had it resting on a shelve for months and I had to give it a try. I was disappointed however. The main idea was interesting, but the whole plot hadn't been managed properly. Rachel was a weak character who complained on and off about her friend, who was bosssing her around and was unfairly luckier than her, but still she didn't do anything about it, not even telling her what was bothering her. The only thing she did was to have an affair with her friends fiance, Dex, who was in a way her rebellion against her good girl self. Their relationship was borring, because he didn't want to call off his marriage and she didn't say a thing about it to him. Plus Rachel appear to be a woman who is not satisfied with her job, but is afraid to quit, and the only thing that can fullfill her is to have a boyfriend. Finally the book was at some parts like a turist guide for the best restaurants and clubs in New York, as the characters spend their time in those, at a different each time. Hopefully the second book will be better (its on me shelve too so i have to read it) but i don't keep my hopes up.
