I am looking forward to the documentary of the same name and hoping it delves deeper into these stories.

This book was "light" on content. The author met the moms of other famous singers and they compared notes about how it was difficult raising their spirited children. I did love some of the personal antidotes about Dave Grohl though!

I was hoping for more grit or reality in the stories. Especially when dealing with Amy Winehouse and a few others like Dr. Dre.

Had I not found the docu-series and watches most of the episodes before picking up the book to read, I might have enjoyed it more. But after watching full episodes, the very short stories left me wanting more. I did really enjoy reading the "vignette" stories. After listening to Dave's "The Storyteller" memoir, and seeing her in the series, I'll just say Dave's Mom is da bomb!
