Interesting Read...

Will not say that this is the most amazing read. A bit repetitive but overall... very interesting. For someone that is a die-hard rock music fan, it is interesting to read this different side of thing.

Not as enchanting as I expected. Not bad, though.
Good layout, insight, and writing. Interesting to have a glimpse of various artists' upbringings and childhood personalities.
Appreciated personal essays (and foreward).
Loved the final vignette. Helpful, maternal advice.
Agree: Faulkner is overrated.

This was endearing, sometimes sad, sometimes delightful.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Musical trivia is fun family tradition so it was neat to get snippet into the lives of rock moms and their kids. Virginia Hanlon Grohl is a wise, insightful, fun-loving woman.
informative slow-paced

It was a slow read for me just because it was so repetitive, they didn't do well in high school, teachers didn't understand them, basically same for all the mums she's interviewed,

While the information here was very interesting to read about, the execution was not great. Instead of reading this I would watch the show of the same name. She spends more time with each person for longer and delves deeper into the factoids of the families. This book is perfectly fine either way nothing particularly exciting to write home about.
