weird how i read this like ten years ago and the words were in the last corner of my
brain and this reread rekindled it and kinda creepy ngl

Jenni and Autumn are the best of friends. Jenni goes into an old lift and travels one year forward in time to find out that Autumn's brother has slipped into a coma because of an accident whilst horseriding. Jenni tries to change events... etc. Couldn't really get into this book and I hated that there was an 'and it was all a dream' sort of ending. Which really annoyed me. I had hoped that they'd be forced to cope with the situation and deal with the consequences... But this is just my opinion. The writing style was very good, it was just the plot that agravated me. Maybe I'm just too old for Windsnap nowadays; I remember loving her other books as a child...

Autumn and Jenni have always been inseparable. Now at age 13, they're about to embark on another predictable family vacation to the same spot they return to annually. Only this time strange things are happening. What starts out as a boring trip ends up in a Back to the Future-esque race against time where only Jenni knows what has happened and what can be done to change it.

This book was an entertaining, light read. It's labeled as being for kids and I can see how that would be true, but even adults can find the story interesting enough if you like your mysteries quick, light and gruesome free.

I read this book Christmas Break of 2011. I love Liz Kessler's books and when I heard this was coming out, I had to get it. I'm glad I did! The concept of this book is so deep and incredible...but fun. All the characters were amazing and added greatly to the story's plot. The moral of the story has been used before, but the book puts a whole new meaning on it: be careful what you wish for.

3.5*
I was obsessed with books about time travel when I was younger for some reason. I read A Year Without Autumn about twenty times when I was ten. The idea of someone being able to travel years at a time into the future was addictive, and I think that’s what instilled the love of science fiction in me.
The book is sweet, but the main character is able to completely reverse the future’s course of events on her own - she is a little too invincible. Sometimes terrible things happen and cannot be stopped, yet this book conveys the opposite meaning. It’s a worthwhile read for younger kids, though.

THIS BOOK IS A FLIPPING ROLLERCOASTER. Absolutely everything Liz Kezzler writes is amazing, as she possesses the ability to hike up intensity and tension to the point where you're practically hyperventilating as you frantically turn pages. So so good.

What a really sweet book. I liked the pacing and quickly fell in love with Jenni and Autumn. A quick read as well if you are looking for something in between heavier reads!
