Senseless was my first Ronald Malfi book and it definitely won’t be the last. I loved the dark, creepy slow-burn mystery and how the three storylines wove together. This was eerie, layered, and deeply psychological. The gritty LA setting added to the tension. I just wish the ending was different; the reveal felt a bit too simple for such a complex buildup.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book based on the book description. I don't usually love vampire themes - aside from having a number of Romanian friends, I find them super cheesy most of the time. This was far from cheesy. It was entertaining, just a little weird (like Los Angelos is weird), and within the realm of possibility - if all the weird stuff in the book could be considered just close enough to normal. I guess I've seen a lot in my life to be able to say it could be within the realm of possibility 😂.
