Ένα βιβλίο γεμάτο ελπίδα, το οποίο σε κάνει να βλέπεις την ζωή με μια άλλη ματιά.
Sticking with my promise to read at least one non-fiction a month AND that of reading more to help my mental health I figured now was the time to crack out The Comfort Book which was recommended and then given to me by Rhiannon!
I’ve long been a follower of @mattzhaig on insta and have so many of his posts saved and bookmarked to return to when I’m feeling sorry for myself… this book is basically those thoughts and writings kindly collected and handily popped in a colourful little book!
Designed to be read as needed, start to finish if that’s how you’d prefer, or just dipped in and out when you’re in need of a little comforting. Most of the content is only a paragraph or two at a time which means it’s super-accessible and great to grab if your brain is not able to process much information in he moment! It’s the perfect format for what we affectionately call “A Toilet Book” in our house, something which can be enjoyed in those tiny moments by us or by guests!
I thoroughly enjoyed this and will definitely refer back to it regularly, once a day if my brain continues trying to kill me the way it is recently!

Listened to this on a road trip. Felt like a motivational speech that covered a variety of topics.
It starts of good, calming, and comforting. Really liked getting into this book as if I could inhale the pages. However with the more and more depression related topics the calm and comfort kind off faded away. Sadly this stuck with me more than the beginning of the book.

“You have survived everything you have been through, and you will survive this too. Stay for the person you will become. You are more than a bad day, or week, or month, or year, or even a decade.”
Things to think of:
Don’t absorb criticism from people you wouldn’t go to for advice.
Don’t fear missing parties you would probably want to leave.
Other people matter. But there is no point becoming someone else in order to find friends. In order to find the people who like you, it is first necessary to be you.
No physical appearance is worth not eating pasta for.
