I was really on the search for a perfect autumnal book. This one seemed like it had potential… at least in a cheesy, Hallmark way. However, it fell very flat for me. It was painfully cheesy and the characters were too shallow for me to root for them. It was definitely not what I was hoping for.

This is the first book I have read that has three different authors and three different stories all taking place in one town and characters that were introduced from one book used in each story. I enjoyed the Magical love stories with a little help from Sofia who owned the Bakery named Bellaluna.

I was hoping to love this. I love all thing Autumn but sadly it fell a little flat for me. I did love that the town was the same for all three, and characters and town even all ran through each story.

Sweet Magic by Donna Kaufmann - 2 stars
• I loved the bakeshop, and the magic.. Abrianna and Caleb were cute.

Love Spells Disaster by Allyson Charles - 0.5 star
• I hated hated hated Cassie with a passion. she was rude.. just terrible and awful in general. What Chip saw in her? I will never know. Samuel was the smart one here.

Sweet On You - Kate Angell - 3 stars
• This was my favourite of the trio. Lara and Jack were adorable, it was seasonally perfect and Edna was top notch.

The Bakeshop at Pumpkin and Spice is the perfect fall read. I didn't realize when I started reading that this book is made up of 3 short stories. My favorite of the 3 was the first one. I loved the family aspect tied up in their love story,

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

What a charming #fallread ! I loved the 3 novellas taking place in Moonbright, Maine ; a town obsessed with Halloween. Each story has a bit of magical romance focused around Moonbriht’s Halloween parade and Bellaluna’s Bakeshop Italian Iced cookies. All the stories were cute, but I especially liked Donna Kaufman’s “Sweet Magic” with Bree and Caleb and Bree finding her inner Bellaluna magic. If you liked the movies Practical Magic, Teen Witch, Simply Irresistible or the original series Charmed; then this book will be up your alley. A solid 4

2.5 rounded to 3. This reminds me of a paperback you'd find in a Little Free Library, or a book your grandma would read (in a good way.)

A trio of novellas with big Hallmark Channel energy: white, hetero, PG romance. Pretty forgettable but I'll probably still read the rest of the series as we make our way through October for the autumn vibes - and it doesn't hurt that the stories are set in Maine

This book of three novellas was perfect for reading in between thrillers. The stories were romantic and all featured a bakeshop that makes cookies that cause those that eat them to fall in love. This was really a great book of stories to read in the fall season. The first story featured the granddaughter of the bakery owner who falls in love with a man who is not planning to remain permanently in the town she doesn’t plan to leave. The second was probably my favorite, and featured a woman who picked the man she wanted to marry based on his on paper qualities, rather than whether they work in real life. This makes her resistant to the man who does actually like her. The last story featured the mayor of the town and a woman who knew him in high school. Their romance was sweet and fun! I would definitely consider reading another book of stories like this one!

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These 3 adorable novellas revolve around the Bellaluna Bakery in Moonbright, Maine. The Bellaluna women possess a gift for matchmaking, when someone eats one of their special cookies, they can’t help but meet their soulmate.

Sweet Magic by Donna Kauffman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This adorable tale was one that followed Abriana Bellaluna, the granddaughter and baker and the title bakeshop. Abriana has begun to doubt her magical abilities until a certain Caleb Dimitriou waltzes into her bakery and takes a bite of one sweet treat. They bond over a love of being in the kitchen and their romance is very sweet and fluffy. But I felt that there was a lot of buildup for not a whole lot of plot. Everything was coming to a head and the next page they were living happily ever after. I was left wanting a little more from the story.

Love Spells Disaster by Allyson Charles ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story was fantastic! We follow Cassie Hie, a headstrong woman with a difficult past, after the one thing she know will make her future simple: a good, stable, man. Of course, when she goes to Bellaluna’s searching for a way to win him over, she’s not expecting the cookies to be quite so effective… on the wrong man. Enter Chip Gneiss, local handy man with a heart of gold, who looks great in a pair of worn jeans. Cassie desperately wants to stick to her plan, but she’s unable to deny the passion and chemistry between her and Chip. Filled with adorable banter and a love of haunted houses and home-made cookies, this story is truly sweet.

Sweet on You by Kate Angell ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story was delightful. After being broken up with by her boyfriend, let go from her job, and having her rent rates hiked, Lara Shaw is feeling down and out. Until her childhood crush and current Mayor of Moonbright, Jack Hanson offers her a job planning the town’s Halloween Parade. She eats up the opportunity, as well as the Bellaluna cookies he bought. Sweet on You has a surprising amount of character development for it’s short length, you really get to know and feel for the colorful cast. It’s equal parts sweet and steamy, and probably my favorite of the 3 stories!

3 novellas packaged into 1 book. Too much insta-love and not enough plot or character development for me personally. If you’re into stories where the main characters barely know each other discuss marriage, babies, and buying homes after less than a week of knowing each other, then go for it.
