I had to sit on this one for a few weeks. I am beyond shocked at Bill. I just cannot believe he would do that to Sookie. Not only did he betray her but she still risked her life to save him? He may be a Vampire but he's still a man and he IS NOT WORTH IT.

Sookie es un pan de Dios. She is so pure hearted because had it been me he would of left this world along with his maker.

I like Alcide a lot but already his "ex" Debbie is becoming too much trouble. He may also NOT be worth it.

Anyways the plot was okay, the mystery of who did what did keep me on my toes but honestly Im here for Sookie's personal life drama.

I felt like this book is one of those "in between" books. It is interesting and fun to read, but you can just tell that it is leading up to something bigger in the next book. It is the preamble to a revelation, something you have to read to understand what is to happen next.

I liked the book overall. I liked the characters of Alcide and of course seeing more of Eric. Can't say that I missed Bill too much. At the moment I am rooting for either Alcide or Eric. I am hoping that the next book gets a 4-star rating... as I am hoping and anticipating it will.

Usually vampires and warewolves mixing are like a hair in my peanut butter, when I'd been hoping for the old fashioned "chocolate in my peanut butter" scenario, but this book pulls it off. I have to question Sookie as a Christian, but hey, I don't run with the undead, so who am I to judge.

Why do I keep reading these? Must have a masochistic streak in me. I watched the show first, and liked the show a lot, so I'm finding the books to be very jarring. The show's writers took Ms. Harris' throwaway characters and made them awesome. Case in point, Russel Edginton, a truly cheesy epic villain in the show is an empty sketch of a character in this book. Tara? So much more interesting in the show. Actually most of the characters are very flimsy, brought to life only by the vapid observations of Sookie. And what's with all of the brand name product mentions? Endorsement deal for carpet cleaner and pizza?

Will I keep reading? Probably, since I'm a completionist and am fascinated by the differences between TV and book versions of everything.
