I can't really say anything BAD about this book. I thought both of the characters were really well fleshed out, the tension and conflict felt really really, and I think they had really good chemistry. For me, what kept this from really been a knocked out of the park book was that it didn't have that feeling of high stakes for me and the timeline was... a little more accelerated than I might have personally preferred. Still, it's a well written book and a nice, quick read. Solid.

What starts out as a way to get closer to the man she has had a crush on forever, Claire agrees to attend a charity function as her twin sister Lia. But when Finn is to sick to attend his step brother Bauer takes his place. Although she fooled the rest of his family, Bauer instantly new that she was Claire and not Lia, but the black sheep of the family kept her rouse and went along with it although he was to expecting the connection he feels to her. Will the connection they both feel be enough to start a relationship? Or can you really start a relationship based on a lie? I fell in love with bad-boy Bauer from the minute he walked into the book and felt he was the perfect man for Claire. The emotional baggage that they both work through touched my heart strings. Once yuo start this book you will not be able to put it down. I cannot wait to see where Karla Sorensen takes us with Lia's story.

Uhhhm, I'm sorry but 4 days is not enough time to fall in love. Was it cute? Of course! But they could have spent a bit more time with each other

Bauer Was Perfection!

"You're stuck with the bad brother for one night, princess."

I think I loved Bauer from the first time I met him. I can’t explain it but something about him just called to me like a moth to a flame. Gah, he was so dreamy without even trying. The thoughts he had about Claire just left me with the dopiest smile.
Oh and the Disney references weren’t bad either, Bauer has excellent taste in his top princesses.
Him and Claire were so perfect for each other and I honestly couldn’t imagine it any other way. Bauer was everything Claire never knew she wanted but turned out to be just what she needed. Claire was the girl who unbeknownst to Bauer would change him forever but in the best of ways. Faked gave me sweet and fun and some unexpected emotion. I loved everything about it. This was my first book by Karla Sorensen but I’m already eager to check out the rest of her work.

Nando’s Spice Rating: Wild Herb / Medium

Not as good as Book 1. Neither of these books seem to be as good as The Marriage Effect but I will still continue to read because I love this family!

I felt the “conflict” could been better/more developed because the book felt uneventful

I wish the snowboarding had been more developed

This was cute but not quite there for me

Faked was a perfect example of an amazing romance novel one should definitely grab when all the life drama is too much at some point and you just want to have a break and experience the thrill of witnessing two people magically falling in love with each other. I thoroughly enjoyed the nature of the relationship between Claire Ward (the youngest of the Ward sisters) and Bauer Davis. They had an insta-connection, something so deep and honest that I wasn’t bothered by some minor slips in the development here and there at all. And the most important thing (which has been a major concern of mine in recent romances) was that I actually believed in their feelings. They were so effortless and pure that I really thought Claire and Bauer made a perfect match together.

Whoever narrated Bauer needs an award because I melted every time he spoke.

I adore this family and I get excited every time I read about them again in any capacity. Karla has a way of making all the family involved in one of the sibling's relationships without being overpowering. Bauer's character development in this was beautiful and I was cheering him on the whole way. I was cheering both of them on actually.

The winter setting with the close proximity in a cabin was elite. It ticked all my boxes on that front. I need to find myself locked in a cabin with a snowboarder after them few chapters. Reading each chapter made me more fall in love with them more and each chapter revealed a little bit more of each of themselves to each other. Claire also became more confident in herself as the story went on and defended herself when she needed to. She started to find her voice more without Lai.

I wanted more explicit spice, it did seem to miss that but the lead-up to it all was on point.

Claire has had a crush on her twin sister’s best friend since forever. So when she sees her chance to spent a whole night with Finn, she grabs it. Only ... it’s not Finn who is picking her up that night. Nope, this tall, muscular, tattooed, handsome man is certainly the total opposite of his little half brother Finn.

Bauer only needs a minute to realise the gorgeous princess in the lobby is not in fact his brother‘s best friend, but her twin sister. And where Lia usually meets him with open hostility, Claire’s quiet nature intrigues him. He is curious to find out more about Claire, and why she took her sister’s place.

What’s better for that than being stuck together for the weekend?

I‘m not gonna lie, I was excited about the original storyline with Claire and Finn. Girl and her identical twin‘s best friend? Sign me up.

When Karla scrapped the story and started over, I was equally excited though. Because so far, Karla has never ever disappointed me with her ability to write amazing characters as well as couples, and I trusted her gut on this.

And boy, did she do good. Finn who? I didn’t once think about that possibility once I started reading. Bauer is ... total boyfriend material.

He is sweet, attentive and a total softie at heart when it comes to the woman that stole his heart. He has a great intuition about what Claire feels and needs, and wants to make sure this thing with him is really what she wants. Claire has just a way about her to push down his wall and get Bauer to open up to her.
Add all the hot glances, innuendo, dirty talk and a girl can’t help but swoon.

Claire was a character we didn’t know that much about before. She’s quiet, calm, the voice of reason in the background. But here, talking about what she loves, her aspirations and accepting to just be herself and go after what she wants with Bauer, she really blossoms and shows us all her amazing strength that her family already saw, but bystanders (I‘m looking at you, Finn!) didn’t notice at first glance.

Both Claire and Bauer are great characters on their own, but together, they are just incredible.

Sometimes in writing, you just have to scrap everything you got and start over new to get to the Happily Ever After.
