Was für ein Finale!
Es passt so nahtlos zu den anderen Bänden, der Schreibstil ist immernoch wunderbar und die Geschichte ist langsam aber mit vielen Plot Twists.
Ich hatte Angst das hier in den Finale so viel hintereinander passiert, was so gar nicht zu den ersten zwei Teilen gepasst hätte. Aber Laini Taylor blieb sich treu und es war alles so simpel, aber auch irgendwie nicht. Es gibt keine große Schlacht, kein großes Gemetzel. Es gibt simple Wege Lösungen zu finden, aber auf die muss der Leser auch erst einmal selber kommen und ich gestehe: ich bin nicht drauf gekommen.
Das Ende ist für mich schön und ich bin sehr zufrieden damit. Es gibt nicht auf alles eine Antwort, einiges wurde offen gehalten aber alle wichtigen Fragen wurden meiner Meinung nach beantwortet.
Die Geschichte von Akiva und Karou ist weiterhin romantisch und besonders. Die Nebencharaktere sind so herzlich und lustig. Liraz hab ich in mein herz geschlossen und natürlich Zusanna, Mik und Ziri.
Für mich war die Reihe etwas besonderes und ich kann sie nur empfehlen!

I enjoyed this novel and thought it was a good way to conclude the Daughter of Smoke & Bone series.
However, there were a few things that I didn't 100% like about this novel. I wanted more romance, for one. I know that that's weird to say about a book that almost entirely focused on the divisiveness and horror of war, but there was so much romance in the first book that I just expected a bit more of it in this one. Secondly, the whole nithilam/godstar plotline just felt like a bit too much to me. There was so much else going on within these novels, and I think this plotline could have been removed without diminishing the main storyline - maybe even allowing it to blossom a bit more.
Still, I did enjoy this book. I pretty much read the whole (huge) thing in one or two sessions. I really liked the majority of the characters, and the main storyline I found really interesting as well. Not an absolute favourite of mine, but one that I enjoyed nonetheless. As I said before, a good conclusion to an enjoyable series!

A bit of a wild ride! Laini Taylor took a lot of risks with this one, introducing quite a few new elements in the eleventh hour, but somehow it worked. I was happy to see Karou have a more active role in this book, as well as the return of the wishes. A satisfying end for the series.
