This book hooked me in at first but then started to lose stars as there were parts where I was bored. Although I'm sure a lot of these situations happen I started getting annoyed at how often Katherine was getting fucked over. I felt like there were so many threads and stories but no real conclusion.

Subtle, elegant, moving--loved it

i enjoyed this quite a bit, but i think it suffers from a slightly detached MC voice [kat's not entirely personalityless, but she's a little hard to connect to] and a general slightly overambitious scope
the book covers such a gigantic span of time and narrative development and topics that it can't quite give everything due diligence, but the arc of the plot is still pretty graceful and cohesive

I enjoyed this one and got pretty invested in the plot and characters. That being said, it did feel a little sparse for me but others might appreciate that subtlety. I'm not sure if I'd reread though.

It’s lovely to get a book about a female mathematician. I loved the explorations of identity and legacy. I was less excited about how much of the book was about men in her life -but it’s understandable as she learns new things about how to move in the world through her relationships with them.
