Super adorable. Jen Wang captures emotion so well in her art (I especially love the blushes on the girls’ faces) and I love the character growth. It was just sweet and perfect and a very fast read.
Many things to like about this book. It did not follow many of the stereotypical middle school plot lines, which is good. At the beginning, I thought it would be, "oh, the poor girl who was almost homeless," but she is a very strong character. When Madison appeared, I thought she was going to be critical of Moon, but instead she was very accommodating and included her. The drawings are very easy to understand, and the story flows well.

Just a plain good story. This one is in middle school. It contains a little bit of bullying and a bit of a surprise. But mostly it is about being different. The writing is good and the art is not distracting. The characters are mostly different from each other but kind of surface-y.
