It's terrifying to think that when confronted by an encroaching death we see our lives as a meaningless series of mistakes. I suppose that's why this novella is assigned reading for many. To warn that a career path of monotony will not lead to a "happy" ending but a painful revelation followed by a last breath.

Really didn’t care for Ivan… I bought the book & it was only $6 so I thought why not, I’ll keep it bc I think maybe I’ll enjoy it more in a different period of my life
