I don’t know if this series is for me….
We get to see Paige returned to her gang, have to deal with the cracking down Syndicate, and her desire to reveal the Rephaim.

This felt more similar to Six of Crows in terms of a gang trying to make headway. There was potential for found family, but I wasn’t totally buying it.

I am writing this after reading book three and I wonder if the two would have worked better being condensed.
Nothing really happens of importance until the last 100 pages.

I do not see the appeal of the Warden or buy their romance.
I am over the immortal romance interest troupe.

After finishing book two of The Bone Season, I can honestly say that I’m pretty sure this is going to be my all-time favourite series. Samantha Shannon just continues to write books that were simply just made for me, and I hope her career is a long one!

I loved this book more than I loved book one, and that’s saying something as that was also a five star read. I just love the characters and the setting so much and I often find myself daydreaming away that I’m in this world (even though it’s terribly dystopian… I just want to be friends with Paige, Eliza, Nick and the gang!)

I absolutely adore the London city setting, and can imagine it so vividly in my head that it’s just like I’m right there in the story. The way Samantha Shannon writes is just excellent, and she continues to blow my mind over and over again.

I’ve never been more thankful that I’ve caught onto this series late, as the cliffhanger at the end of The Mime Order was something I would not have enjoyed experiencing if I couldn’t jump straight into book three!

I’ll be recommending this to everyone I know for the rest of my life!

Funny because in my review for the first book I said I’d have loved to see more about syndicate life and this sequel was exactly that.

Thoroughly enjoying this series!

I’m interested to see what happens in Book 3 considering it’s a lot shorter than 1 + 2.

Better than the first book, can really feel the author come into her own here. This time, there's a smaller cast of foreground characters, so they all get time to shine.
