Better than the first book, can really feel the author come into her own here. This time, there's a smaller cast of foreground characters, so they all get time to shine.

super fun! i really appreciate how distinct this is from the bone season and doesn’t just feel like the second half of a book like a lot of series, but is instead very structured differently. Really liked getting to see much more from London after leaving it for so long, and can’t wait to see where Paige goes next.

It felt a little meh in comparison to the first one. Still very compelling, super interesting world. Definitely second book syndrome  - excited to see where book 3 goes.
